Below you’ll find a summary of what’s new, what’s coming, and what you may have missed.

🚀 Recently released

HSA investments trade settlement and funding enhancements

HealthEquity has enhanced trade settlement and funding for Health Savings Account (HSA) investments, helping members access invested or liquidated funds associated with investment transactions. Members can also view trade status while transactions are being processed, providing greater visibility throughout the experience.

What to expect:

  • Investment trades are settling faster, to help reduce the time between trade execution and funds becoming available for investing or spending.

  • Members can view clearer trade status updates while transactions are being processed.

  • No changes to investment options, fund lineups, trade cutoff times, market timing rules, or employer and partner workflows. No action is required from clients or partners.

Expanded voice and chat support experiences

AI-powered features¹ support routine account, card, and claims inquiries through secure self-service while maintaining access to live HealthEquity support when additional assistance is needed.

What to expect:

  • Members can receive AI-powered assistance for common account, card, and claims questions through natural voice interactions and chat.

  • Self-service support for balance checks, transactions, card management, and claim-related inquiries.

  • Seamless escalation to a HealthEquity representative when additional assistance is needed.

Voice and chat experiences are powered by HealthEquity’s agentic AI platform, built in partnership with Parloa.² Enhancements for common card, account management, and claims questions will roll out throughout the year.

HealthEquity Marketplace is expanding the range of health needs it supports with new offerings across Skincare, Metabolic Health, and Diagnostics.³

📅 Upcoming changes

Take action on SFTP changes now

Planned updates to HealthEquity’s Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) sites may affect how organizations send, receive, and transfer files.

What to expect:

  • We are retiring the SFTP site ftp.wageworks.com

  • All file transfer setups not currently using “secureftp.healthequity.com” must update their connection settings

  • Firewalls and IP allow lists will need to support new IP ranges

  • These changes are required by August 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM MT to avoid service disruption

Detailed instructions have been sent to system users’ technology teams, providers, and/or third-party vendors early to ensure a smooth transition. For full details, refer to this SFTP communication.

Security Alerts

Early this fall, HealthEquity is introducing Security Alerts to help protect accountholders during high-risk account activities.⁴ SMS text and in-app notifications will provide an additional layer of fraud protection by asking accountholders to confirm key actions before funds move.

What to expect:

  • SMS text and in-app alerts asking accountholders to confirm high-risk account actions.

  • Confirmation requests for adding a new bank account, transferring an HSA, or closing an HSA.

  • Added protection alongside existing safeguards, including identity verification, bank account verification, and secure login.

No action is required by employers, brokers, or partners. Security Alerts help protect healthcare funds from unauthorized activity while providing added peace of mind for accountholders.⁴

📢 In case you missed it

Schwab HSBA mobile enrollment experience

Members can set up and enroll in a Schwab Health Savings Brokerage Account⁵ (HSBA) directly within the HealthEquity Mobile app. This process was previously available through the web portal and is now available in the app.

What to expect:

  • Guided, step-by-step path

  • Clear entry points and support along the way

  • Seamless handoff to complete required steps with Schwab

  • No changes to eligibility rules or investment options

This update makes it easier for members to get started with investing from the app and supports the mobile experience as another place to manage their Health Savings Account (HSA).⁶

Client portal manual enrollment upgrade and strengthened credentials

We’ve enhanced the manual enrollment workflow in your client portal to strengthen protection from the start. Enrollment now requires a valid employee email address and at least one phone number, preferably a mobile number, enabling smooth identity verification in passkey setup and ensuring secure authentication as employees begin their benefits journey. Placeholder email formats such as "none@xyz.com" or "no@xyz.com" will no longer be accepted to maintain data integrity.

We are also strengthening your login security, recognizing that passwords are highly vulnerable and a possible entry point for fraud. As part of our broader effort to reduce fraud and privacy risk for all stakeholders, we are enforcing updated password standards for users of the client portal. Passwords must now be at least 15 characters and include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, while also preventing reuse, personal identifiers, and repetitive patterns. Together, these enhancements significantly reduce risk while helping ensure a secure, seamless experience for you and your employees.

Marketplace expansion Oura Ring 5

Oura Ring 5 is now available in the HealthEquity marketplace. This update introduces a wearable option that tracks sleep, activity, and readiness, with access available through marketplace and the ability to use HSA or FSA funds for purchase.⁷

What to expect:

Through this offering, eligible members will be able to:

  • Access Oura Ring 5 through HealthEquity marketplace

  • Track sleep, activity, and recovery metrics to support health awareness

  • Use HSA or FSA funds toward the purchase of wearable health technology
