Introduction
HealthEquity is making important updates and improvements to our policies, platforms, and technology to give clients and members helpful solutions for their accounts.
Below you’ll find a summary of what’s new, what’s coming, and what you may have missed.
🚀 Recently released
Schwab HSBA mobile enrollment experience
Members can set up and enroll in a Schwab Health Savings Brokerage Account¹ (HSBA) directly within the HealthEquity Mobile app.² This process was previously available through the web portal and is now available in the app.
What members will experience:
Guided, step-by-step path
Clear entry points and support along the way
Seamless handoff to complete required steps with Schwab
No changes to eligibility rules or investment options
This update makes it easier for members to get started with investing from the app and supports the mobile experience as another place to manage their Health Savings Account (HSA).
Client Portal Manual Enrollment Upgrade and Strengthened Credentials
We’ve enhanced the manual enrollment workflow in your client portal to strengthen protection from the start. Enrollment now requires a valid employee email address and at least one phone number—preferably a mobile number—enabling smooth identity verification in passkey setup and ensuring secure authentication as employees begin their benefits journey. Placeholder email formats such as "none@xyz .com" or "no@xyz .com" will no longer be accepted to maintain data integrity.
We are also strengthening your login security, recognizing that passwords are highly vulnerable and a possible entry point for fraud. As part of our broader effort to reduce fraud and privacy risk for all stakeholders, we are enforcing updated password standards for users of the client portal. Passwords must now be at least 15 characters and include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, while also preventing reuse, personal identifiers, and repetitive patterns. Together, these enhancements significantly reduce risk while helping ensure a secure, seamless experience for you and your employees.
Marketplace expansion Oura Ring 5
Oura Ring 5 is now available in HealthEquity marketplace. This update introduces a wearable option that tracks sleep, activity, and readiness, with access available through marketplace and the ability to use HSA or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for purchase.³
What to expect:
Through this offering, eligible members will be able to:
Access Oura Ring 5 through HealthEquity marketplace
Track sleep, activity, and recovery metrics to support health awareness
Use HSA or FSA funds toward the purchase of wearable health technology
📅 Upcoming changes
Faster trade settlement and funding
Enhancements to trade settlement and funding will roll out later this month, helping members liquidate and access invested funds more quickly. Behind the scenes, we’re accelerating how quickly a sell trade is processed and executed, so members have quicker access to cash funds for spending. Members will also have improved visibility into trade status while transactions are being processed.

Firewalls and IP allow lists will need to support new IP ranges
Take action to update connections now
These changes are required by August 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM MT to avoid service disruption
Detailed instructions have been sent to system users’ technology teams, providers, and/or third-party vendors early to ensure a smooth transition. For full details, refer to the SFTP communication here.

Only the account holder automatically receives a card.
Spouse and dependent cards are no longer automatically issued.
Members can request cards for spouses or dependents, anytime.
This change will apply to enrollments beginning June 1, 2026.
Analyzer plan design
Analyzer is HealthEquity's data intelligence platform that gives employers on-demand visibility into their HSA program performance, including benchmarking against industry peers, employee financial outcome segmentation, and plan optimization modeling.
We’ve expanded the Analyzer experience with new plan design capabilities that support more structured, data-driven evaluation and optimization. These enhancements are designed to support complimentary plan design consultations with HealthEquity’s Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) team. Employers can review benchmarking insights and explore plan design improvements in partnership with a HealthEquity consultant, based on the employer's goals.
What to expect:
Enhanced benchmarking insights to assess plan performance against peers
Consultant-supported plan design insights to evaluate and optimize plan design
Plan data collection to support more accurate plan design discussions
Improved visibility into plan performance to support more strategic decision-making
Employers are able to view their data against the industry of their choice
Marketplace expansion with Diagnostics and Men’s Health
Two new offerings are available in the HealthEquity marketplace: Diagnostics and Men’s Health. These additions expand the marketplace experience by giving members access to additional health and wellness solutions through trusted partners, directly within the HealthEquity experience.
What to expect:

Expanded Expedited Claims – Dental and Vision (EZ Receipts Web)

Previously limited to Prescription (Rx) and Over the Counter (OTC) claims, plan participants of FSAs, Limited Purpose FSAs, and/or Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA) can quickly upload receipts and submit accurate claims for Rx, OTC, dental and vision reimbursement. AI-powered technology is designed to reduce claims filing and processing time and accelerate reimbursement. Actual processing times may vary.
What to expect:
Accurate claims submission the first time
Reduced processing time for more plan participants across more claims
Better use of benefits and reduced unused funds by removing reimbursement barriers
Expedited Claims communication to eligible plan participants
Passkey Fallback
Passkey fallback supports an account holder who has not been able to register a passkey due to device settings, firewalls, or other technical issues that blocked successful registration. Account holder security is important to us. We want to ensure user identity when accessing their account. The fallback mechanism ensures users can authenticate when passkeys are unavailable.
If the account holder has previously completed identity verification steps during passkey registration but was unable to successfully create a passkey, we help them save time on a return login to mobile or web portal.⁷ Our systems recall their verification results and registered device and revert to a one-time passcode (OTP) process via text or voice call for verification. If they are unable to verify identity after several attempts, the account will be temporarily locked, and they may call member services for assistance. Without a registered passkey, the passkey fallback login method will repeat each time they access their account.
We’ll continue sharing timely product and service updates each month so you can stay informed and prepared. Thank you for partnering with HealthEquity as we work to create simpler, more secure experiences for everyone we serve.
