April 2026 Product Release Notes

Introduction

At HealthEquity, delivering remarkable, reliable service remains at the heart of everything we do. This month’s release notes highlight enhancements designed to strengthen security, streamline key activities, and improve member and client experiences.

Below you’ll find a summary of what’s new, what’s coming, and what you may have missed.

🚀 Recently released

Simplified HSA transfer-in experience

We’ve introduced a streamlined digital experience that makes it easier for members to consolidate their health savings by moving existing Health Savings Account (HSA) funds from other custodians to HealthEquity.

What to look forward to:

  • Replaces manual, paper-based transfer requests with a fully digital submission process

  • Clear guidance throughout the experience so members understand what to expect at each step

  • No action required from employers, brokers, or partners

This update removes friction and improves transparency and ease of use for members.

📅 Upcoming changes

SFTP changes ahead

Planned updates to HealthEquity’s Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) sites may affect how organizations send, receive, and transfer files.

What to know:

  • We will be retiring the SFTP site ftp.wageworks.com

  • All file transfer setups not currently using secureftp.healthequity.com must update their connection settings

  • Firewalls and IP allowlists will need to support new IP ranges

  • These changes are required by August 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM MT to avoid service disruption.

We will be sending detailed instructions to system users’ technology teams, providers, and/or third-party vendors early to help ensure a smooth transition.

Enhancing World Class Service

HealthEquity is transforming World Class Service by leveraging intelligent, conversational AI that understands members’ needs and takes action in real time.

What’s changing:

  • AI-enabled assistance for routine inquiries, paired with human expertise for more complex questions

  • Integrated support across voice, chat, and human-assisted channels

  • Faster resolution without sacrificing care, accuracy, or security

Voice and chat experiences are powered by HealthEquity’s agentic AI platform, built in partnership with Parloa. Enhancements for common card, account management, and claims questions will roll out throughout the year, beginning with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) this spring.

📢 In case you missed it

Passkey rollout is underway

Passkey enablement continues for participants using the HealthEquity and EZ Receipts apps and web portals.

Why it matters:

  • Passkeys are required and allow participants to sign in using Face ID, fingerprint, or a device PIN—eliminating the need for passwords. This phishing-resistant technology helps protect funds, personal information, and health data from fraud while delivering a faster, easier login experience.

Resources, FAQs, and flyers are available in the Sponsor Resource Hub and Member and Plan Participant Resource Center.

Participant and Help Tab updates

We’re reimagining the Participant and Help tabs to make it easier for clients to find the information they need quickly—saving time and simplifying everyday tasks.

What’s improved:

  • Enhanced search experience: A refreshed layout makes navigation more intuitive and better aligned with other applications you use day to day.

  • Redesigned ‘Show All’ participant page: Quickly expand or collapse to make updates, enter a qualifying event, or process a rehire.

  • Richer participant account views: See the big picture or drill down. You can now sort or filter to view more detailed participant data, such as qualifying event information, notices, and billing details.

  • Improved participant activity tracking: Expand activity views, apply filters, or search by keyword to quickly locate relevant actions and updates.

We’ll continue sharing product and service updates each month so you can stay informed and prepared. Thank you for partnering with HealthEquity as we work to create simpler, more secure experiences for everyone we serve.
