Admin Ability to Place, Modify, or Cancel a Commuter Order

Benefit administrators can directly place, modify, or cancel Commuter orders on behalf of members directly in their member portal.

HealthEquity's Latest Update Simplifies Commuter Benefits Management

Effective management of Commuter Benefits is key to optimizing savings and convenience for employees. At HealthEquity, we are focused on easing this process for both our members and their administrators. In line with this focus, we have unveiled a commuter enhancement that empowers our Benefit Administrators to act on behalf of their members.

Empowering Benefit Administrators to Act on Behalf of Their Members

Today, Benefits Administrators can enroll their members into other types of consumer-directed benefits, but not for Commuter Benefits. Historically, this provided a challenge for our members who are seeking a quicker solution to activating their benefits or for those members that find access to technology difficult.

HealthEquity has now enabled Benefit Administrators to directly place, modify, or cancel Commuter orders on behalf of members directly in their member portal. This acceleration in the enrollment process reflects our vision for a future where efficiency and member satisfaction intersect.

Steps for Benefits Administrators

  1. Benefits administrators complete a member profile record in the employer portal.

  2. They access an Single Sign On (SSO) link to enter the member portal.

  3. Benefits Administrators can place the commuter order on behalf of the member.

Please note: The SSO link will only be available on the employer portal and only after the employee demographic record is successfully saved.

Common Questions for this feature:

Who is this feature for?

Any member whose Commuter Account falls under the Commuter Order Model (COM), Commuter Account Model (CAM), or Commuter Express (CX) Model and whose employer has chosen to activate this feature.

Please note: For CAM, this feature is only applicable when the member chooses to enroll in a transit and/or parking account plan.

For clients under CAM, if your plan type is either payroll funded parking or transit card, elections happen automatically once payroll deductions have taken place. There is no need to make a monthly election.
